Team High 3 ... Make a monkey of yourselves together

Do you know the three monkey smileys? That's exactly what this very funny exercise is all about! A group-dynamic team exercise where you have to work together to build a given structure from individual building elements. But be careful, there are three handicaps: one person can't hear, one person can't see and one person can't speak. Teamwork, chaos and lots of fun guaranteed!

Set-up and procedure

At the beginning, the tetris-shaped components are laid out in the centre. Each player then receives one of the three monkey cards. This determines the roles for each round: an architect, a construction manager and a construction worker.

  • Architect: He/she draws one of the task cards showing the structure to be built. The card must be placed in front of him/her so that only he/she can see it - the architect is therefore the only one who can see the finished construction. The task is to describe to the construction manager how to build. However, the architect cannot speak, i.e. he/she only has to convey the instructions using gestures .

  • Site manager: The site manager cannot hear anything. He/she receives all his/her instructions from the architect via gestures. In turn, the site manager translates these gestures into a verbal description for the construction worker, i.e. the site manager tells him/her how to build something.

  • Construction worker: He/she builds the structure based on the description of the site manager. However, the construction worker is blind, i.e. he/she cannot see what is being built.

There is a total time limit of approx. three minutes, for which a stopwatch serves as a timer. Within the allotted time, the team must try to successfully build as many construction projects as possible. The laboratory offers a total of two sets of the game for loan.
