Taboo you
Sexually transmitted diseases - what is it? Homosexuality - what's your opinion on it? You don't talk about it! Dealing with sexual education issues in youth welfare is an important and often unaddressed area - which is precisely why the game TabuDu ties in with this. The dice game, which offers young people a space for discussion under pedagogical supervision, is about sexuality, norms, values and self-awareness. It offers the opportunity to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere while always respecting personal boundaries - without reservations or fears. Current aspects relating to the topic of sexuality are addressed with the help of question and event cards. The game leader is very important in the realisation of the game and is often asked for advice and support as an "expert" with little shyness or shame. The game atmosphere, at least at the beginning, depends very much on him/her, as he/she should ensure that the room is quiet and undisturbed. It is an ideal dice game for working with young people in the field of youth work (e.g. youth centres), youth welfare (e.g. homes, counselling centres) and youth psychiatry.

Set-up and procedure
Everyone places a figure of their choice on the starting square. Whoever rolls the highest number starts. The game then continues in a clockwise direction. It is up to each player to decide which way round the board they want to go, left or right. The path to the right is shorter, but "more action-packed" and "riskier". This means that there is a greater chance of having to draw an action or risk card on this path. The player advances according to the number on the dice.
- If the playing piece lands on a space on the knowledge card, the game master reads the question and the possible answers on the knowledge card aloud. If the other player answers the question correctly, he/she may advance one space. If the player does not answer the question correctly, the playing piece remains in place. The game master decides whether the question has been answered correctly or incorrectly.
- If the pawn lands on the action space, the game master picks up the card and gives the other player the corresponding task.
- If the game piece lands on a risk space, the player must pick up a risk card and read it out loud.
The game ends when the first player has reached the goal.
Note: To avoid interrupting the flow of the game by looking up the game instructions, it is essential that the game leader reads them through before starting the game and memorises the possible answers.
