Team on the ball
The exercise is ideal as an energiser for in-between sessions or to 'wake up' after a (long) break, as it not only stimulates speed but also motor skills.
Number of participants:inside
Minimum: 4
Optimum: 10-12
Maximum: 20
Duration
10-15 minutes, without evaluation discussion
Space
Normal seminar room, with large table area
Material
60 blank cards - made from sturdy original playing cardboard with a varnished surface; blank / white on one side
Stopwatch if necessary
Procedure
The cards are dealt out onto the table in halves (i.e. the printed side of 30 cards faces upwards and the blank side of the remaining 30). The participants can compete against each other as individuals or form whole teams, with one group starting with the printed side and the other with the blank side. On the command "Go" or "Start", the participants should collect the cards as quickly as possible, turn them to the opposite side and stack them. The group that manages to get all their cards turned to 'their' side first is the winner. If the players compete against each other individually, the winner is the one who has the biggest pile of cards at the end. Depending on the difficulty level, a time limit can be set by the 'referee'.
