Stand up for Diversity 20 sayings and how to refute them

You can't take everything and everyone into consideration.

Diversity is for women and people with disabilities. And they already have their representatives.

Don't you have any other problems? You'd better get on with the important things at work!

I'm sure everyone has heard such sayings about diversity. How much you would like to have quick-witted arguments at the ready in such situations. And this is exactly where the "Stand up for Diversity" card set comes in! Various bullshit slogans about diversity have been compiled on the cards as info cards and provided with suitable counter-arguments. The cards can be used to train quick-wittedness - for more self-confidence and diversity in the workplace!

We would like to express our special thanks to Charta der Vielfalt e. V., which provided us with two sets of the card game free of charge.

Structure and procedure:

The card game consists of a total of 25 cards, 20 of which have both a bullshit saying and a suitable, quick-witted rebuttal. There are also five blank cards on which the participants can get creative themselves. Firstly, it is a good idea to read through all the cards and ask yourself the following questions:

  • Which sayings have I already come across?
  • Which ones have I come across most often?
  • What moves me the most and perhaps makes me angry or sad?

The participants first consider for themselves how they would react to each saying. In the next step, they then read through the response and see if it matches their own answer or provides additional ideas. Do the participants know other sayings that are not on the playing cards? No problem! There are blank cards on which the sayings and possible counterarguments can be noted.
