Team puzzle Find the hook!
The team puzzle is an original exercise that funds creative problem solving, team communication and the ability to challenge established thought patterns. The aim is to complete the puzzle within a given framework - but there's a twist! Unlike an ordinary jigsaw puzzle, the pieces are uneven and don't always immediately fit as you expect them to. Work together to find out how you can solve the puzzle. There are no tools - only your brains and your co-operation count!
What you take away from this exercise:
- You learn to question your own assumptions and to think "outside the box".
- You will learn how important communication and collaboration are in overcoming tricky challenges.
- You will develop creative problem-solving strategies and discover how effective it can be to break established patterns.
Number of participants
Minimum: 1; Optimum: 5; Maximum: 7
Age recommendation
from 12 years
Duration
15 to 40 minutes (without evaluation)
Place
At least 3 x 4 metres (The exercise can be performed both indoors and outdoors), a large table
Set-up and procedure
Choose a flat surface - a large table or a flat floor are ideal. Then get started: work together, think, try things out and discuss. Be attentive and keep your eyes open for unusual solutions. Depending on the variant, you can talk to each other, remain silent or take it in turns to place a piece. This increases the tension and ensures that everyone actively participates.
Variants for even more variety:
- Without speaking: You are not allowed to talk to each other during the entire exercise. Communication is only non-verbal.
- With order: Take turns placing a puzzle piece so that everyone takes a turn.
- Competition: Play in two teams and try to solve the puzzle faster than your opponents.
